Citizens for a Better Manhattan (CBM) is a non-partisan local Political Action Committee which seeks to use the democratic process to improve coordination between the USD 383 school board and city commission; preserve traditional Manhattan neighborhoods, and implement economic development which brings quality jobs to our community. We work to elect city commissioners and school board members who are committed to the following principles of public policy:
•The non-partisan character of local government
•Strong neighborhoods with safe and affordable housing
•A high quality public educational system
•Adequate funding for social services
•Use of public funds to support businesses that pay workers enough to keep their families above poverty
•Ensuring that all citizens have opportunities to participate in local government
•Protecting the health of the public
•Recognizing and supporting the diversity of our community
